Biyografi

Kağan Korad 

KAĞAN KORAD Bilkent Üniversitesi, Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Fakültesi, Klasik Gitar Sanat Dalı lisans, yüksek lisans ve sanatta yeterlik programlarından onur dereceleriyle mezun oldu.

Bilkent Gitar Üçlüsü (1987-1999), Terci-Korad Gitar İkilisi (2000- 2012), Trio Anka, Salman-Korad bandoneon gitar ikilisi gibi üyesi olduğu farklı oda müziği guruplarıyla ve solo olarak Cizre’den Tekirdağ’a tüm yurdu kapsayan konserlerinin yanı sıra  Koblenz, Volos, Guitart, Naxos, Miami, İstanbul, Ankara SCA gibi önemli  festivallerde konsertist, hoca ve jüri üyesi olarak yer aldı, Avrupa, Amerika, Asya ve Afrika kıtalarında bir çok ülkede 600 ün üzerinde konser verdi. Kendisine ve mensup olduğu guruplara  ithaf edilmiş içinde  beşi gitar konçertosu olmak üzere çok sayıda eserin dünya prömiyerlerini gerçekleştirdi. Orkestralarla solist olarak 20 ye yakın eser seslendirdi. Uluslararası Volos Festivali 30. Yıl “Onur Ödülü” ve Yıldız T. Üniversitesi Uluslararası Gitar Festivali “Yılın Gitaristi” başta olmak üzere alanında çeşitli ödüllere layık görüldü.

Gitarlı  guruplar, solo gitar ve gitar orkestra için yaptığı çok sayıda düzenlemesi vardır Düzenlemelerini yaptığı ve çeşitli orkestralarla seslendirdiği toplam 70 dakikalık İspanyol eser ve şarkılarından oluşan, gitar-tenor ve orkestra için “Endülüs Projesi” bu konudaki en kapsamlı çalışmasıdır. 

Korad’ın Bilkent Gitar Üçlüsüyle (Bilkent Gitar Üçlüsü-Kalan Müzik, 2000) ve Terci Korad Duo ve Bilkent Gitar Üçlüsünün canlı kayıtlarını içeren (Akdeniz Renkleri-A.K Müzik, 2008) albümleri bulunmaktadır, ayrıca International Guitart Festival karma albümünde “Terci Korad Duo” ile seslendirdiği eserlerle yer almıştır. 

2001 yılında Doğu Avrupa ülkelerinin oluşturduğu gitar birliği ASEG’e “Association of Classical Guitarists of Southeastern Europe” Türkiye’yi temsilen Kürşad Terci’yle beraber kurucu üye olarak davet edildi, halen bu işbirliği paktının üyesi olan Korad’ın direktörü ve mimarı olduğu “Bilkent Oda Müziği Günleri” gibi büyük çaplı müzik organizasyonları arasında 2006 senesinden bu yana, her sene devam eden “Donizetti, Yılın Klasik Müzik Etkinliği” ödüllü “Türkiye Gitar Buluşmaları” ülkemizde klasik müzik alanında düzenlenen en kapsamlı ve dikkat çeken etkinliklerden biri olmasının yanı sıra dünyada da farklı bir model oluşturmaktadır. 

Bilkent Üniversitesi Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Fakültesi’nde sekiz yıl boyunca bölüm başkanlığı ve dekanlık görevlerini yürütmüştür. Halen aynı bölümde profesör olarak çalışmalarını sürdürmekte, alanda etkinlik ve uluslararası başarılarıyla dikkat çeken öğrenciler yetiştirmektedir.

Kağan Korad completed his undergraduate, graduate and proficiency in arts studies with honors at the Music and Performing Arts Faculty of Bilkent University. 

He gave concerts all over the Turkey, from Cizre to Tekirdağ, with different chamber music groups of which he was a member, such as Bilkent Guitar Trio (1987-1999), Terci-Korad Guitar Duo (2000- 2012), Trio Anka, Salman-Korad Bandoneon-Guitar duo, and as a solo artist. He also took part as a concertist, teacher and jury member in world wide guitar festivals such as Koblenz, Volos, Guitart, Naxos and Miami, and gave hundreds of concerts in many countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Among the nearly 20 works he performed as a soloist with orchestras, he also performed the world premieres of five guitar concertos dedicated to the groups he was a member of. He was deemed worthy of various awards in his field, especially the International Volos Festival 30th Anniversary Honorary Award.

Korad has many arrangements made for guitar groups, solo guitar and guitar orchestra. His albums include the Bilkent Guitar Trio “Bilkent Guitar Trio-Kalan Music, 2000” and the live recordings of the Terci Korad duo and the Bilkent Guitar Trio “Akdeniz Renkleri- Colurs of Mediterrano A.K Music, 2008). Among the many events it organizes in Turkey, such as Bilkent Chamber Music Days, Turkey Guitar Meetings, which have been continuing every year since 2006 and were awarded the 2017 Donizetti “Classical Music Event of the Year” award, are among the most comprehensive and remarkable events organized in the field of classical music in our country.

He served as department chair and dean at Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts for 8 years. Currently continues his work as a professor in the same department and educates students who stand out with their international success.
